soldiers racked along a line of defence, deciding which fires to fight.

some are small, some are big... some are small but could be big - how would you know which ones to fight?

oftentimes we go, "it's a moral issue, everything's a moral issue - we are fighting on principle and can't let it go"! in parliament they'll raise clever lines and famous quotes bradishing the 'slippery slope' argument. it never ends.

you are stirring storm in a teacup, says one.

do you think you are a society of virgins?, says another.
(pretty euphemism to 'hypocrite')
in the end, one could say everything is a moral issue, yes. you could choose to fight every fire, just as you could choose to use time as you please, explore the vilest most insane pleasures like Dorian Gray or live your deepest darkest fantasies.
in the end, true humility is when you go on your knees first, asking God to reveal HIS will to you, that His Will be done. (not ask him to rubber-stamp our own myopic ideas of righteousness and fairness) God's justice is when He works His will, sanctifies His name thru willing, humble, servants.
Thy kingdom come.
